TRAPPER

Subproyects > TRAPPER

Will focus on evaluating the problem of wastewater and sludge reuse in agriculture in the context of climate change, and will assess contaminant’s uptake in plants and other biota

TRAPPER OBJECTIVES

A

To analyze literature data on the environmental occurrence of contaminants of emerging concern and transformation products and metabolites in the selected matrices. (PI responsible: A. Ginebreda)

A

To apply the developed methodologies for the determination of PMOCs in the selected matrices generated in greenhouse studies and field studies. (PI responsible: S. Pérez)

A

5.To apply MALDI-ToF-MSI for the determination of the spatial distribution of selected contaminants of emerging concern in crops, earthworm and fish using cross-sections,
combined with LC-HRMS analysis of extracted solid samples after homogenization. (PI responsible: A. Ginebreda)

A

To develop new analytical methodologies for the determination of PMOCs in treated wastewater, which is used for the irrigation of crops, in crops and biota, as well as in groundwater. (PI responsible: S. Pérez)

A

Tracing the presence and persistence of the suspected compounds from reused wastewater to groundwater as sink of pollution (real scale). Furthermore, within the framework of this project the pathways of the medium and polar pollutants within the soil/plant/earthworm system will be studied. (PI responsible: Sandra Pérez)

A

ncorporation of project results into a GIS/database publicly accessible by internet (see below). (PI responsible: A. Ginebreda)
